Activate earnings

What activation does to your DEX, what it requires, and the four stages of the activation pipeline.

Updated View as Markdown

Activation is the paid step that deploys your contract and routes builder fees to it. This page covers what changes, what you need before you start, and each stage of the pipeline.

What activation does

Activation deploys your contract. Its address becomes your builder code. Fees from the next fill accrue to your contract.

Activation unlocks Fees, Trader overrides, Affiliates, and Earnings. These sections stay locked until you activate.

Before you start

Connect your owner wallet. The payer for activation must be the owner wallet.

One payment activates one DEX. Your existing traders will approve your new builder code once.

Plan

Choose a paid plan. Plans differ in the one-time setup fee, the platform share, and a few features. The page shows what your DEX would have kept on each plan over the last 30 days, as an estimate.

Enterprise is contact only.

Pay

Send one crypto payment from the owner wallet. The payment covers the setup fee, the 100 USDC builder minimum delivered to your contract, and deployment gas. There is no monthly fee.

Hyperliquid requires a builder code to hold at least 100 USDC in its perps account to earn fees.

Fees

Set your per-product fees. They start at the platform defaults. You can change them later on the fees page.

Deploy

Sign two messages. The first is an ownership message in plain text, and it costs no gas. The second is a typed authorization.

The typed authorization pins your DEX name, your owner wallet, your plan, your fees, and your approval ceilings. It also names your wallet as the guardian.

The pipeline then deploys the timelock and your contract, assigns roles, registers the agent key, funds the builder minimum, and records your builder code. Last, it republishes your DEX so orders carry the new builder code.

Progress shows live on the page. If you reload the page, the pipeline resumes where it left off.

After activation

The page shows a done state naming your DEX and confirming it now earns on its own ledger. Fees from the next fill accrue to your contract.

The done state shows your contract address and your timelock address. DEX config > Deployment also lists your owner wallet, your agent key (never funded), the network your DEX runs on, and your plan. The timelock holds a 48-hour delay. These values are frozen.

Each returning trader approves the new builder code once. The approval is one signature and costs no gas. The approval dialog on your DEX explains it.

The “Powered by Floatout” label is removed from your DEX footer.

What does not change

Activation does not change your DEX URL, its name, or its branding. Traders keep their existing Hyperliquid accounts.

Not available

Floatout does not offer downgrades or refunds of setup fees. Floatout does not support moving a DEX to another wallet.
