This page defines the terms used across these docs, in alphabetical order.
Activation The paid step that deploys your contract and routes builder fees to it.
Affiliate A trader who refers other traders with an invite code.
Approval (fee approval) The one-time signature a trader gives naming the maximum builder fee for a builder code. A trader wallet can hold at most 10 approvals at a time.
Builder code The address Hyperliquid pays builder fees to. After activation, your contract’s address becomes your builder code.
Builder fee The per-fill fee Hyperliquid collects for the app that sent the order.
Builder minimum The 100 USDC a builder code must hold in its perps account to earn builder fees. It is delivered to your contract at activation.
Claim The transaction that pays a wallet its published balance from your contract. Anyone can submit a claim. The funds always go to the wallet named in the proof.
Console app.floatout.xyz, where you manage your DEX.
Contract (BuilderLedger contract) The contract deployed for your DEX at activation. It holds accrued builder fees and pays claims against the published root.
Epoch One publication of a root.
Guardian The pause role on your contract, held by your owner wallet. The guardian can pause claims for up to 72 hours.
Kickback The share of the builder fee paid to an affiliate or to a referred trader.
Ledger Floatout’s record of who is owed what, computed from recorded fills.
Outcome markets Hyperliquid prediction markets, yes/no and multi-outcome.
Owner wallet The wallet that created the DEX. It is the only wallet that can change it.
Perps Perpetual futures.
Platform share Floatout’s share of the gross builder fee after activation.
Publish The act of saving a console change so it goes live on your DEX.
Root (merkle root) The published summary of the ledger the contract pays claims against.
Slug The URL name for your DEX, derived from its display name. The slug is permanent once you create the DEX.
Starter The free plan. Your DEX is live and builder fees go to Floatout.
Timelock The 48-hour delay in front of administrative actions on your contract.
Trader override A per-wallet discount on top of your fee schedule, for perps, outcome markets, or all products. An override can never raise a fee.
