Traders on your DEX can refer other traders and earn a share of the builder fee. This page covers how affiliates sign up, how referrals are attributed, and how the split pays out.
How traders become affiliates
A trader creates an invite code on the referrals page of your DEX. The trader copies the invite link and shares it.
The trader sets the kickback split between themselves and the referred trader. The trader sets this split per code and per referred trader.
Attribution
A visitor who opens an invite link gets a referral cookie. When the visitor connects a wallet, the code is attributed to that wallet.
The first code a wallet is attributed to wins. Self-referral is rejected.
Revenue split
Under Growth > Affiliates you set the default share of your builder fee paid to affiliates who refer traders. A change to this default applies to new fills only.
The console shows the decomposition: the gross builder fee, the platform share, the affiliate commission, and what you retain. The platform share plus the commission cannot exceed 100% of the gross fee. The console blocks the save if it does.
Partner overrides
A partner override pays a specific affiliate more or less than the default. An affiliate appears in this list once they create an invite code on your DEX.
Invite link settings
You set the URL path for invite links. The default is /join, and the path can be 1 to 32 characters.
You also set how many days the referral cookie lasts, from 1 to 90 days. The default is 7 days.
How affiliates get paid
Affiliates and the traders they refer claim their own share against the same root as you. Claims pay their own wallets directly. Affiliate payouts never pass through you or through Floatout.
Availability
Affiliates are available after activation. Affiliate payouts run through your contract, so the feature unlocks once your contract exists.
